PYONGYANG, August 14 (Itar-Tass) — The North Korean Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland called as another “provocation” information, circulated by Seoul, on “North Korean cyber terrorism”.
A statement by the secretariat of this organization, circulated by the KCNA news agency on Sunday, calls such information “completely fabricated and ridiculous”.
The committee believes that the South Korean authorities exploit such propaganda methods “to undermine the prestige of the people’s republic in the international arena, to justify its line, aimed at boosting confrontation with the DPRK as well as to divert the attention of the South Korea public from evident failures in the foreign and domestic policies”.
Earlier, according to data of regional news agencies, representatives of South Korean police said of exposing a swindle, in which ”North Korean hackers allegedly participated”. Their aim was to penetrate illegally into the well-developed industry of on-line games in South Korea to net financial funds by employing illegal programmes.
North Korea claims that it is precisely the South Korean authorities who widely use their hackers for “attacks on the republic’s electronic networks in Internet”.
