Eight Police Injured in Chechen Cliff Crash

MOSCOW, August 28 (RIA Novosti) – At least eight police officers were injured when their car fell off a cliff in Russia’ North Caucasus Republic of Chechnya, an Interior Ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.

“At about 1.30 pm Moscow time on the way from the village of Sharoy to Khankala, the car, part of a motor convoy skidded and fell into a steep ravine. At least eight employees of the Khabarovsk interior ministry were injured in the accident,” the spokesperson said.

An investigation group has arrived at the accident scene.
