Electrician Suspended after Woman Shocked to Death on Park Bench

A Donetsk city court in the Rostov region in southern Russia restricted an electrician from working for one year over the death of a young woman who was electrocuted to death while sitting on a park bench, Valery Chekryshev, a spokesman for regional Investigative Committee, said on Friday.

On August 30 last year, a 19-year-old girl together with her friend was walking along the alley in the town of Donetsk and then she sat on a bench and leaned over its metal back and was electrocuted. According to the investigation, the metal back was mounted into a brick fence along with electric lights which wires were connected with violations.

Electrician Sergei Samoilenko was prosecuted for causing death by negligence due to the improper execution of his job. According to investigators, he did not check the electrical installation in the alley.
