MOSCOW, July 12 (Itar-Tass) —— The Eurasian Union will start its activity in 2013, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.
“Dynamics is high; hopefully, we will sign a declaration of the Eurasian Union next year and it can and must start its activity in 2013,” he said.
The creation of the Common Economic Space is the next step forwards free movement of commodities and capital, Putin said. “There is a more profound level of integration, the Eurasian Union, and we must seek to attain this goal. We have all grounds to believe that we will make this step in 2013,” he noted.
As for current integration processes, Putin hopes that the Customs Union Commission will acquire new functions and a new quality on January 1, 2012. “We have discussed the supranational character of the Customs Union Commission. We think that this Commission must operate on the permanent basis,” he said. The Commission will form a permanently operating unit, which will be headquartered in Moscow.
Meanwhile, Minsk is selecting a building for the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) Court, Putin said. “Russia has nominated its candidates for EurAsEC Court judges,” he added.
