Famous Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada has brought an exhibition of his paintings to the Russian capital.
Kenzo’s latest project aims to introduce a European audience to the concept of “Noh Theatre.” Through a series of self-portraits, Kenzo presents the various characters associated with this theatrical art form.
“I’ve always been interested in painting, and I always wanted to paint,” he said, “but due to my commitment to fashion in my younger years, I became a fashion designer. Painting seemed too complex for me. When I left the world of high fashion, however, I decided to dedicate my time to painting, so little by little I began to paint.”
The exhibition runs until December 7 at the Triumph Gallery near the Novokuznetskaya metro station.
