Fire Breaks Out in Northwest Moscow

A fire broke out in northwestern Moscow early on Monday, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

A firefighter was injured when a gas cylinder exploded as he was extinguishing the flames in the Russian capital’s Narodnogo Opolcheniya Street, a law enforcement officer said.

Emergencies services told RIA Novosti that the fire, which has been contained by now, engulfed an area of 400 sq meters in a building where paintwork materials were stored.

According to another report, the fire occurred at a fireworks depot.
