Russia’s synchronized swimmers have returned home after taking a clean sweep of gold medals at the World Championships.
Fans gathered to meet the triumphant squad at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport earlier on Monday.
The Russian ladies claimed all seven golds in the synchronized swimming in Shanghai, with Natalya Ischenko making history by reaching the top of the podium 6 times and becoming a 16-time World Champion.
“We have the best coaches in the world. We train very hard every day. And, of course, it’s the talent of all our team-members. We are very glad that we managed to claim all seven gold medals. We thank our coaches and all the staff, which were part of our victories. We are very happy and also thank our fans, and all those who believed in us,” Ischenko said.
