Four children dead, 4 people injured in house fire in Russia’s south

Four children died and four people, including two more children, were injured after a fire broke out in a house near Russia’s southern city of Krasnodar, a spokesman for the local emergencies ministry said.

He said the fire erupted on early Saturday in a house in the village of Severny, where a family of two adults and their six children, including adopted ones, lived.

Both parents, a 15-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy were rescued from the fire and hospitalized. The 42-year-old mother of the family was put in an intensive care ward.

After the firefighters put out the fire they discovered four bodies of children aging between two and 12 years, the spokesman added.

A group of fire inspectors and investigators are working at the scene of the tragedy to establish the cause of the fire.
