Four killed in traffic accident in Russia’s Far East

 Four people were killed after a car collided with a tow-truck in Russia’s Far East, a spokesman for the local police department said on Tuesday.

The spokesman said, a Nissan Bluebird car, allegedly a taxi, swerved into oncoming lane on a highway near the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and collided with a tow-truck on Monday afternoon.

The driver of the Bluebird and three of his passengers were killed in the crash and another passenger was hospitalized with injuries, he added.

According to statistics, 30,000 people lose their lives in traffic accidents every year in Russia due to the poor state of highway networks and reckless driving.
