The G8 foreign ministers call on the UN Security Council to increase pressure on Muammar Gaddafi’s regime. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe after a discussion which took place in Paris. According to Alain Juppe, such measures can include economic sanctions. The G8 foreign ministers welcomed steps taken by regional bodies, in particular, the League of Arab States, to settle the Libyan crisis. The ministers demanded that the Libyan authorities stop the Air Force flights used to suppress the opposition. They warned Gaddafi that he may face the International Criminal Court.
