The anti-Gaddafi coalition says that in the past 24 hours it has fired 16 Tomahawk cruise missiles on military targets of the Gaddafi regime. The Pentagon says this is a signal to the regime’s forces to lay down arms or face destruction.
On Sunday, the Americans are handing over the command of the Libya campaign to NATO.
