Almost 40 percent of Russians believe in supernatural phenomena, with this figure highest among women and those who class themselves as religious, according to a poll published on Wednesday.
Some 22 percent of Russians believe in omens and horoscopes, but only 6 percent believe in extraterrestrials and just 2 percent in zombies, the All-Russia Center for the Study of Public Opinion on Social and Economic Issues (VTsIOM) poll said.
Only 7 percent of non-believers trust horoscopes.
Orthodox Christian Russians make up the largest proportion of those who believe in omens (26 percent) compared to 13 percent among the followers of other faiths and 7 percent of atheists.
However, 57 percent of those polled said they did not believe in any of the phenomena listed.
