Hobart rally calls for Russia to release Greenpeace activists

Hobart 7000 About 100 people have rallied in Hobart against the imprisonment of 28 Greenpeace activists in Russia.This week the 28 activists and two journalists were charged over a protest last month at an oil rig in the Arctic.59 year old Tasmanian man, Colin Russell was among them.Greenpeace says Mr Russell has been unable to communicate with his wife and is spending 23 hours a day in a cell.His wife Chrissy Russell and daughter Maddy Russell has thanked Australian consular staff for their help.The pressure is now on Prime Minister Tony Abbott to discuss the case with Russian President Vla…
