MOSCOW, December 26 (RIA Novosti) – The controversial film Innocence of Muslims has been included in Russia’s official register of extremist materials, the Justice Ministry said on Wednesday.
The move follows a Moscow court ruling in October declaring the film extremist and it is now under an official countrywide ban.
Prior to that a court in Grozny, the capital of Russia’s mainly Islamic Republic of Chechnya, also ruled against the film’s distribution.
Mobile network operators have agreed to carry out the court’s instructions.
