Russia’s Interior Ministry is searching the offices of the Insurance Supervision Service, a spokesman for the ministry’s economic security department said on Thursday.
“It is the anticorruption investigation bureau which is doing the searches concerning one of the service’s officials,” he said.
The service said earlier that the Interior Affairs Ministry is checking licenses at a license department headed by the Insurance Supervision Service’s deputy head Lyudmila Senkina.
In March, President Dmitry Medvedev ordered the disbandment of the Insurance Supervision Service and transfer of its functions to the Federal Financial Markets Service and the central bank.
