Investigation into May 6 Moscow Unrest Completed

MOSCOW, December 28 (RIA Novosti) – The investigation into the case against 12 suspected participants in violent unrest during a May 6 opposition rally in Moscow has been completed, Investigative Department Spokesman Vladimir Markin said on Friday.

“Investigative procedures concerning 12 people have been completed. The suspects’ defense team has started studying the case. Then the case will be transferred to the Prosecutor General’s Office for a decision on whether it should be sent to court,” Markin said

The suspects – two women and ten men – were apprehended over their role in the May 6 opposition rally in Bolotnaya Square that turned violent.

Over 400 people were arrested and scores injured when protesters briefly broke through police lines in a bid to take their protest to the Kremlin walls.
