U.S.-PUBLIC DEBT

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate on Friday voted to kill a debt ceiling plan put forth by House Speaker John Boehner to avoid a looming debt default crisis less than two hours after the House passed the bill.

NEW YORK – The United State will keep its sovereign rating even if it fails to raise the borrowing limit by August 2.
