ITAR-TASS: “TYUMEN, February 27 (Itar-Tass) — An official of the Tyumen municipal customer service for construction and reconstruction is sentenced to three years for bribe extortion.

In the summer of 2008, a commercial firm laid covers on running tracks, basketball grounds and tennis courts at four city schools. The work was financed from the budget. The official, Ivan Makarov, who controlled the budget spendings, asked for a reward for his assistance to increase the work volume and for the signing of the work acceptance documents. He asked for 15 percent of the funds to be transferred to the contractor, the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office told Itar-Tass on Saturday.”
