The number of people confirmed dead or listed as missing in Japan rose above 27,000 on Thursday, nearly two weeks after a devastating earthquake and tsunami hit the country’s north-east coast, the NHK TV channel reported.
Also, almost 360,000 people have been displaced as the result of the March 11 quake, NHK said.
