KAZAN, July 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Tatarstan’s Grand Prix in Formula 1 Powerboat racing /F1 H2O/ will start on Saturday at the Nizhny Kaban Lake.
It will be for the first time that F1 powerboat racing will be organised in Tatarstan.
“These races were organised in Russia ten times – eight times in St. Petersburg and twice in Moscow,” the republic’ s Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism said.
The championship features nine teams from eight countries: Russia, Finland, Italy /two teams/, the UAE, China, Portugal, Qatar and Sweden.
Saturday’s schedule includes F1 free practice and qualifications and timed trials and races of F-4S.
The main race is due on July 17.
F1H2O are considered to be the most spectacular powerboat racing. F1 boat reaches 100 kmph in less than three seconds and may reach the speed over 250 kmph. over the 50 minutes of racing, a pilot looses up to five kilograms of weight, and heart beating reaches 200 beats a minute.
