MOSCOW, September 1 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov condemns attempts CIS and EU integration processes cancel each other out.
In the meeting with students and professors of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) on Thursday, Lavrov said, “When our neighbours are demanded with whom they are – with Moscow or Brussels, these attempts pull back – to ideological stereotypes of the past.”
“Russia takes an active part in different formats to normalise the world economic situation. Russia pays special attention to integration processes on the CIS space, primarily in the EurAsEC and the Customs Union,” the Russian minister stressed.
“We are surprised at certain attempts to believe that CIS and EU integration programmes cancel each other out,” he said. “This runs counter the Russian-EU joint documents on complementarity of integration processes on the whole European space,” Lavrov pointed out.
