The ultra-tight KHL Western conference semi-finals have reached Game 4 with two top seed outfits – Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and SKA – now being one win away from the conference finals following away wins against Dynamo Riga and Atlant, respectively.
Atlant was held scoreless this past weekend in their first home game against SKA. On Monday, they put that right, scoring early on to take the lead before SKA’s last ditch effort sent the game into overtime.
And 18 minutes into the extra period, former New Jersey forward Sergey Brylin netted the winner to make the home crown fall silent.
Meanwhile in Riga, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl claimed a much more comfortable win over Dynamo.
The Latvian outfit had the wild home crowd behind them at Arena Riga, but it was their opponents from Yaroslavl who controlled the game in style – 6-2.
Visitors’ forward Pavol Demitra prolonged his 11 playoff game hot streak, scoring a goal and making an assist.
