Lucky Escape for 93-year-old as Truck Crashes into House

A 93-year-old woman from the central Russian village of Chernava had a lucky escape when a truck crashed through the wall of her house, local traffic police said on Thursday.

The driver died of his injuries. The woman, who was in the adjacent room at the moment of the crash, was unharmed.

According to a preliminary report the driver apparently lost control of his vehicle when he was driving at high speed on a wet and slippery road.

The truck damaged a gas pipe and completely destroyed the front wall of the house. The building partially collapsed while the truck was being removed.
