The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should draw up an economic cooperation road map to develop large regional projects by the end of the year, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday at the SCO summit in Astana, Kazakhstan.
“I think that this document should be worked out and approved by the end of the year and implemented without delay,” Medvedev said.
Joint economic projects for the SCO could include the establishment of a venture fund, a United Business Cooperation Center and the creation of a special account for funding project feasibility studies, he said.
“We have already discussed that issue (the special account). I think the issue is overdue and almost all the states are ready for a decision,” Medvedev said.
