Gulzhan Moldazhanova has replaced Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska as CEO of Russia’s Basic Element (BasEl) holding, BasEl said on Tuesday.
Deripaska, who still owns BasEl and has been its head from March 2009, will become the chairman of the company’s supervisory board, Moldazhanova’s previous post in the company, BasEl said.
Moldazhanova worked in various aluminum companies owned by Deripaska from 1995 to 2009. She left BasEl as general director in 2009 but returned to the company in May 2012.
Forbes magazine named her as one of the most influential women in the world in 2008. She was also included in the top 100 rating of the most influential women in Russia in 2011.
