Moscow Card Player Takes Life ‘Over Debts’

A professional card player has committed suicide in Moscow over what friends say were mounting debts, a police source said on Monday.

Oleg Fridman, 57, shot himself in the head in his south Moscow flat on Friday, the sorces said.

Friends cited game debts and “family problems” as reasons for the suicide.

Fridman was a member of Russia’s Federation of Sport Preference, a gaming association.

An investigation is underway.
