More than two million Muslims began on Monday the ascension to the holy Mount of Arafat, marking the peak of the annual hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. Mount Arafat is the place, where, Muslims believe, the Islamic prophet Muhammad stood and delivered the Farewell Sermon to those accompanying him for the Hajj towards the end of his life.
