MOSCOW, Sep 5 (PRIME) — Ukrainian state oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Yevgeny Bakulin considers the price of U.S. $230 per 1,000 cubic meters for Russian natural gas supplied to Ukraine to be fair, Bakulin said in an interview with Ukrainian television channel Channel 5 broadcast Monday, as cited by RIA Novosti.
Russia and Ukraine have been in talks over the price of Russian gas imports for some time now, with the Ukrainian government looking to revise contracts signed in 2009, as it considers the price to be excessive.
In OctoberDecember, the price of Russian gas for Ukraine is to increase about 10% on the quarter to $388 per 1,000 cubic meters, Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov said earlier.
