TULA, July 30 (Itar-Tass) —— The newly appointed acting governor of the Tula region, Vladimir Gruzdev, arrived in Tula on Saturday, July 30.
He had a brief meeting with his deputies. No press opportunities were scheduled.
Unofficial sources told Itar-Tass that Gruzdev would be presented to the staff, municipal authorities and regional legislators on Monday, August 1.
Gruzdev, 44, has replaced Vyacheslav Dudka, who had ran the region since April 2005 and was dismissed by President Dmitry Medvedev on July 29.
The new governor is a well-known entrepreneur, one of the co-owners of the Sedmoy Kontinent retail network. He was a deputy of the 4th State Duma.
In the present Duma he is first deputy chairman of the Committee on Civil, Criminal, Arbitration and Procedural Legislation.
He is a member of the General Council and Presidium of the Moscow branch of the United Russia party.
He has been in the list of Russian billionaires, compiled by Finans magazine, since 2006.
