Official sees Belarus selling Beltransgaz stk to Gazprom in Sep–Nov

MINSK, Jul 21 (PRIME) — The Belarusian government is expected to sell its 50% stake in Belarusian gas pipeline operator Beltransgaz to Russian gas giant Gazprom in SeptemberNovember, the Chairman of Belarus State Property Committee Georgy Kuznetsov said at a news conference Thursday.

Kuznetsov said the deal was delayed until SeptemberNovember due to the Belarusian governments desire to sell the stake once a final decision on the price and conditions of Russian natural gas supplies to Belarus in 20122014 is made.

However, earlier in July, Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said that issues over the price of Russian gas for Belarus and the acquisition of a stake in Beltransgaz by Russian gas giant Gazprom are not directly linked.
