MOSCOW, December 13 (RIA Novosti) – One person was killed and six injured when a building collapsed in the southern Russian city of Taganrog on Thursday, rescuers and law enforcers said.
“Today [on Thursday] two walls and a ceiling collapsed in a four-storey building under construction in Taganrog. One worker died, five of his colleagues were taken to hospital in serious condition,” the regional police department said in a statement.
The Russian emergencies ministry said up to five people were believed to be trapped under the rubble.
A law enforcement source earlier said that 23 people have already been rescued from the collapsed building.
