A Palestinian delegation will discuss inter-Palestinian reconciliation in Moscow ahead of a Middle East Quartet meeting, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Wednesday.
“In the next few days we expect contacts with a Palestinian delegation in Moscow,” Lukashevich said. “We intend to synchronize our actions.”
“We, for our part, will use all opportunities to support the Cairo agreement and will be ready to assist the Palestinian sides in implementing it as soon as possible,” he said.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman said the Mideast Quartet, comprising Russia, the United States, the European Union and the United Nations, is to convene “very soon,” without giving the exact date and location. Media reports earlier suggested it may take place in Washington on July 11.
