People’s "disappearances" reported in Libya

Libyan security forces have launched a wave of so called “forced disappearances” in the capital of Tripoli to stop protests against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime, Human Rights Watch group said Sunday.

The group said it had evidence from Tripoli residents who said that people were detained if they helped organize or took part in anti-government protests, or if they were suspected of speaking to foreign media.
