18:09 10/06/2011 The State Memorial and Natural Preserve Museum-Estate of Leo Tolstoy “Yasnaya Polyana” was established 90 years ago, on June 10, 1921. The Tolstoy family believed that the estate was named Yasnaya Polyana (Sunny Meadow) after a spacious sunny valley located nearby. It is also possible that it was named after the Yasenka river.
