Playing in Russia? Why not? – Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, says he does not rule out the possibility of him switching from Spanish football to the Russian Premier League.

Ronaldo gave an interview to Sportbox.ru at the global premiere of Castrol EDGE Presents Ronaldo Tested to the Limit documentary film, which took place in the Spanish capital.

And when asked a about the possibility of joining the likes of Samuel Eto’o and Roberto Carlos, who play for super-rich Anzhi Makhachkala, in the Russian Premier League, the Portuguese footballer’s answer was: “Why not?”

“I know that the Russian football championship is becoming stronger. And I have no objections to someday be playing in your country. In football you never know what’ll happen to you tomorrow, so if I end up in Russia, one shouldn’t raise his eyebrows in surprise,” he said.

“However, at the moment I’m quite comfortable with Real,” the 26-year-old added.

The authors of the movie made Ronaldo undergo a series the most rigorous scientific test really pushing the player to the limit of his abilities.

“It’s the first time I had to go on the pitch not in front of the fans, but in front of dozens of cameras. Nevertheless, it seems, I coped with my task pretty well,” he said.

The 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year said the facts the documentary revealed became eye-opening, even for himself.

“I saw how my body, actually, works – when I jump, shoot at the goals and come at the end of crosses… It was all a bit unusual, but thanks to Castrol EDGE, I figured out how to get the maximum of Cristiano Ronaldo,”
the player explained.
