Project winner announced for Russia’s culture center in Paris

An international jury selected the best project on Thursday for a future Russian spiritual and cultural center in Paris. The winner is a joint effort of Russian and French architects. This was announced by the jury chairman, head of the department of Presidential affairs Vladimir Kozhin.

The contest had been announced last fall, when over 100 architectural workshops from Russia, France and other countries sent in their projects.

The buildings for the Center must meet the architectural canons of orthodoxy, while harmonizing with the historical appearance of surrounding buildings, as they will take their place in  the heart of a historic district on the banks of the Seine, in proximity to the Eiffel Tower.
