The Swiss town of Sisikon has unveiled a monument to the great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin. Sisikon has joined the list of 10 foreign cities that already have outdoor statues of the 19th-century writer.
The bust was presented to the Swiss city by the Russian Union of Writers. The opening ceremony featured the presence of the city officials along with the representatives of the Russian party. The statue occupies a place in front of one of the city’s hotels, fronting the Urner See Lake.
Other Pushkin statues are in countries in Asia, Europe and Africa.
