MOSCOW, Aug 23 (PRIME) — Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin suggested that all Russian political parties should conduct primary elections at a meeting of the coordination council of the All-Russia Peoples Front on Monday, RIA Novosti reported.
Putin proposed discussing the issue with representatives of all the major political parties and introduce the relevant amendments to the legislation in order to make primaries mandatory.
Moreover, Putin proposed to consider introducing primaries for regional legislative assemblies as well.
The All-Russia Peoples Front is a coalition between the ruling United Russia party and a number of non-United Russia nongovernmental organizations and individuals.
