Russian President Vladimir Putin has submitted to parliament a bill allowing top officials to stay in office until they are 70 years old, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday.
“In order to keep highly experienced top staff in the civil service, the draft envisages extending the [maximum] civil service age to 70… for federal civil servants occupying top-level posts,” the press service quoted a comment to the draft.
The retirement age for officials earlier was 60 years, with a possibility of extension to 65 years.
