MOSCOW, July 9 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Saturday met with head of Russia’s Fishery Agency Andrei Krainy to discuss a bill on amateur fishing.
Despite all the explanations furnished by the agency, people seem to be ignorant of details of the bill, Putin said.
“Now we are making an ever wider use of such an instrument of preliminary discussions within the All-Russia Popular Front. And practice is proving that discussions are proper where socially important or socially sensitive bills are in question,” Putin said. “Please look at what else could be done to provide more explanations of the bill’s basic provisions, and, if need be, to introduce amendments.”
“The bill is in fact being widely discussed. It is posted on our website. There are different points of view, which are sometimes poles apart. There are businessmen. In early May, they spoke out their position and their concerns when they met with you in Volgograd. There are amateur fishermen. It seems to be a good idea to discuss the bill within the Popular Front before submitting it to the State Duma,” Kariny said.
