Radiation levels around the Fukushima nuclear power plant’s reactor No. 3 hit by a hydrogen explosion on Monday have slightly risen, Japanese government officials said.
Three people who worked to cool the reactor were injured, seven are missing, Tokyo Electric Company reported.
The reactor was not damaged by the blast, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said earlier on Monday.
A similar explosion rocked the nuclear power plant’s reactor No. 1 on Saturday. Radiation levels were also slightly higher than normal.
Some 10,000 people are feared to have been killed by a powerful earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on Friday.
