Russia’s Regional Development Ministry has refuted reports that Minister Oleg Govorun resigned following criticism by the President.
Deputy Regional Development Minister Valery Gaevsky told journalists that Govorun “has not resigned, he is on sick leave,” adding that he is standing in for the minister during his absence.
Last week President Putin formally reprimanded Govorun, and two other ministers, over their failure to implement presidential instructions.
