Famous Russian actress Lyudmila Gurchenko passed away on Wednesday at the age of 75. Preliminary reports cite a heart attack as the cause of death.
Gurchenko died at home, the Interfax news agency reported. She suddenly felt unwell and ambulance doctors were unable to save her life. According to news reports, not long before her death the actress underwent serious hip surgery.
Gurchenko started her acting career back in 1956, when she was still a student. That year she starred in “Carnival Night,” and her role in this movie immediately made her famous all across the Soviet Union. Following many roles in Soviet movies, she was named “People’s Actress of the Soviet Union” in 1983.
