MOSCOW, July 30 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s Emergencies Ministry has sent an Ilyushin-76 jet to take part in a fire fighting operation in Russia’s northwestern Arkhangelsk region, a ministry spokesman told Itar-Tass on Saturday.
“At 14:01 Moscow time, an Il-76 plane took off from Krasnoyarsk. The plane is equipped with a water discharge unit capable of holding 42 tons of water,” the spokesman said.
Apart from it, a total of 200 rescuers have been seconded to the Arkhangelsk region from Novgorod and Pskov regions.
Three hundred rescuers were commissioned to the region from the Leningrad on Friday.
As of now, the wildfire situation in the Arkhangelsk region is the most difficult of all other Russian regions.
