RIA boss wins presidential award

RIA Novosti news agency’s chief editor Svetlana Mironyuk was decorated with the Order of Merit to the Motherland by President Medvedev on Monday for “development of the Russian entrepreneurship, the mass media, culture and arts.”

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev granted 39 state awards to a variety of professionals who have excelled in their profession, including researchers, designers, businessmen, farm workers, a provincial teacher and an orphanage director.

Medvedev described all of them as people of high professional standards.
