Road Crash Kills 10 in South Russia

At least ten people were killed early on Sunday when a minibus collided with a truck on a highway in the Stavropol region in southern Russia, local emergencies services reported.

“Ten people, including a child, died in the accident,” spokesman Oleg Degtyaryov said.

According to preliminary investigation, the minibus swerved to an opposite lane and collided head-on with a DAF truck.

“Only the truck driver survived,” a police source told RIA Novosti. “A man, two women and a five-year-old child died on the way to the hospital, while six other victims died in the collision.”

Traffic police continue to investigate the crash and to establish the identities of the victims.
