MOSCOW, August 26 (Itar-Tass) —— The crash of the Progress spacecraft has had no negative effect on human health and has not raised the water and ground radiation level, the chief of the federal human health control service (Rospotrebnadzor), Gennady Onishchenko, told reporters on Friday.
The site where the spacecraft supposedly fell (the Choya district in the Altai Republic) is 80-100 kilometres away from the nearest residential site. It is a 24-hour-long walk. There are no people at the site, he said.
