Russian energy giant Rosneft says it is pushing ahead with its alliance with BP to pursue its Arctic exploration project.
This comes despite a Swedish court ruling earlier in the week that said the alliance would conflict with BP’s other joint-Russian partnership, TNK-BP.
Rosneft chairman Igor Sechin said the deal is not dead yet, and that he is satisfied with BP as a partner.
The multi-billion-dollar share-swap between the two oil giants was signed in January to exploit the potentially huge deposits of oil and gas in Russia’s Arctic shelf.
