Russia defeated Denmark 4-3 in the second round of the Ice Hockey World Championships in Bratislava on Thursday.
Russia’s Sergei Zinovyev scored in the 10th minute, but Denmark’s Nichlas Hardt got the puck into Russia’s net in the 12th minute, and Mikkel Bodker netted seconds before the end of the first period, giving the Danes a 2-1 lead.
In the second period of the Group E match, Zinovyev scored twice – in the 31st and 35th minutes, giving Russia a 3-2 lead.
Yevgeny Artyukhin netted the goal for Russia in the 46th minute, but Hardt improved the score for Denmark shooting the puck into the Russian net in the 48th minute.
In another game on Thursday, Norway beat Switzerland 3-2.
Russia will next play the Czech Republic on Sunday.
