Three Russians were among 5 people killed in a helicopter pile-up in southwestern Turkey on Thursday, Russia’s polite aviation management Rosaviatsia said.
“The Kamov Ka-52 helicopter belonged to a Nefteyugansk Air Group. The helicopter flew 7 timberland firefighting missions in a area by a day,” Rosaviatsia orator told RIA Novosti.
“According to rough investigation, a helicopter strike a towering slope and rolled down into a ravine,” a central said. “There were 3 Russian crewmembers and dual Turkish officials aboard.”
The Turkish journal Hurriyet progressing reported a Russian victims were Alexander Gavrilov, Nikolai Atepalikhin and Sergei Khorokhorin.
A group of rescue workers is attempting to strech a pile-up site, Rosaviatsia said.
